Advanced Technology International, based in Summerville, South Carolina, has secured a new Other Transaction Agreement with the United States Air Force. Under this deal, ATI will act as the consortium manager for the Department of the Air Force Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities, commonly referred to as DAF TENCAP.
The core mission of this consortium is straightforward: get advanced technology into the hands of warfighters faster. The focus areas include improving lethality, survivability, and overall combat effectiveness. By bringing together industry partners, academic institutions, and government labs, the group aims to deliver working prototypes that address real operational needs without the delays typical of standard acquisition programs.
ATI brings experience running similar collaborative models. The company manages multiple consortia that connect non-traditional defense contractors with military branches. This new role expands that portfolio into a mission area that relies heavily on rapid prototyping and field experimentation.
The announcement was made on September 9, 2026. Officials from both ATI and the Air Force have emphasized the need for speed in adapting national capabilities to tactical use. The consortium structure allows for flexible funding and streamlined decision-making, which is seen as critical for keeping pace with emerging threats.
No financial terms were disclosed in the initial release. Work under the agreement is expected to begin immediately, with project calls going out to consortium members in the coming months. The effort is part of a broader push within the Department of the Air Force to shorten the timeline from concept to operational capability.
