Flipkart has brought in three senior technology executives to lead its work in artificial intelligence, data science, fintech and payments engineering, and platform architecture. The appointments come as the e-commerce company pushes to expand its digital commerce capabilities and strengthen its technical foundation.
The new hires will oversee the development of AI-driven features for personalized shopping experiences, as well as the engineering behind payment systems and the underlying platform infrastructure. Flipkart has been investing heavily in technology to keep pace with shifting consumer habits and competition from rivals like Amazon and Reliance's JioMart.
One of the executives will focus on scaling Flipkart's AI and data science efforts, aiming to improve recommendation engines and supply chain efficiency. Another will lead the fintech and payments engineering team, working on products like Flipkart Pay Later and other financial services. The third will handle platform architecture, ensuring the company's systems can handle growing transaction volumes and new features.
Flipkart did not disclose the names of the new hires or their start dates. The company said the appointments reflect its commitment to building a world-class technology team as it prepares for future growth in India's online retail market.
