Vermont State Police are investigating a bomb threat discovered at the Weidmann Electrical Technology facility in St. Johnsbury. Authorities responded to the plant after the threat was found written on a wall inside a bathroom. The message was scrawled in what appeared to be a marker or pen, prompting an immediate security response.
Police arrived on the scene and began a sweep of the building. Employees were evacuated as a precaution while officers and K-9 units searched the premises. No explosive devices were found during the initial search, and the facility was later deemed safe. The investigation remains active, with detectives reviewing security footage and interviewing staff.
The company, which specializes in electrical insulation products, has not issued a public statement about the incident. Local officials have not confirmed whether the threat targeted specific individuals or the company as a whole. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
This is not the first time a Vermont industrial site has faced such a disruption. Similar incidents in the past have often turned out to be hoaxes, but police are treating this case seriously due to the potential risk. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
