The shortlist for the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Technology Implementation of the Year category covering markets outside the United States has been announced, following a record number of entries this year.
Organizers said the response highlighted many strong examples of technology excellence driving transformative change across the global retail sector. The finalists represent a broad mix of retailers and technology partners working on projects that delivered measurable results in stores, supply chains and online operations.
Judges noted that the quality of submissions made shortlisting difficult, with entries spanning areas such as artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics and customer-facing digital tools. Each shortlisted project demonstrated clear evidence of implementation at scale rather than early-stage experimentation.
The awards recognize teams that have moved beyond pilot programs to deploy technology in live retail environments, delivering operational improvements and better customer experiences. Finalists will now go forward to the next stage of judging, with winners set to be revealed at the awards ceremony later this year.
Organizers thanked all entrants for their submissions and congratulated the shortlisted companies on their achievement. Further details about the ceremony and the full list of finalists will be shared with the industry in the coming weeks.
